Sierra de Francia
The Sierra de Francia is a region of Salamanca located roughly 70 kilometers from the city of Salamanca.
It is a sierra belonging to the Sistema Central and through which the Francia River - hence its name - runs.
It's a mountainous region with a series of peaks, the highlight of which is the Peña de Francia, the sierra's highest mountain.
Additionally, this zone was named Las Batuecas Natural Park - Sierra de Franciain 1978 due to its infinite beauty. It is also a declared Biosphere Reserve.
We can't forget to mention the liturgical and traditional town of La Alberca is perhaps the sierra's most important locality.
